The New York Paranormal Society frequently conducts unofficial investigations of supposedly paranormal locations. These can be haunted tours, field trips to haunted locations or areas with reported Bigfoot or UFO activity, or any other research that is not a fully-equipped investigation. Those field reports will be listed here.
Bobby Mackey's Music World by Michelle Mason I grew up in Cincinnati, just across the river from Bobby Mackey’s Music World. For locals, the country music bar is a cornerstone of the area’s haunted folklore; it also repeatedly tops lists of haunted places in America and has been featured on shows like Ghost Adventures and A Haunting. It has also been investigated by many paranormal groups, and been written about by local writer Doug Hensley in the book Hell’s Gate: Terror at Bobby Mackey’s Music World. Read more...
The Stanley Hotel by Laura Pennace The Stanley Hotel, in Estes Park, CO, is supposedly one of the most haunted locations in the country. Made famous by horror writer Stephen King as the inspiration for his novel "The Shining," the hotel was built in 1909 by F.O. Stanley, inventor of the Stanley Steamer. Our own Laura Pennace traveled to Colorado to visit the hotel and investigate the claims of ghostly activity that supposedly haunt the hotel. Read more...
Conference House Field Trip by Jason Stroming The Conference House, also known as the Billopp House, is a colonial mansion in the Tottenville section of Staten Island, N.Y. It's historically significant because on September 11th, 1776, Ben Franklin, John Adams and Edward Rutledge held a Peace Conference with British officials, in an attempt to stop the Revolutionary War. On Friday, October 21st, the Scared! crew will be premiering their newest documentary, "Haunted Snug Harbor" at Snug Harbor Cultural Center. The film looks at the history of Snug Harbor as well as claims of paranormal activty, and features Scared!, SIPS and us here at NYPS investigating locations on the grounds such as the Governor's House, Matron's House, and Cottage B. if you're in the NYC area you should come check it out!
